In 1998, a ‘Facts For Faith’ magazine edited by Albert Fairweather of Australia, was sent to Nigeria, and from there back to South West Kenya. An invitation came from a small group of believers to visit them, and in early 2000, Albert went for three months to Kenya with the conviction of God’s call, living among the people and teaching them mainly under trees and in isolated places. He has visited each year since then.
The blessing of the Lord was evident from the outset, and over the years many have been saved and New Testament churches planted. Each church is autonomous, with elders to guide.
Albert found a group of godly believers in Nairobi who had a church registration, and who managed the Emmaus Bible Correspondence School.
Government regulations require registration of all churches, and this is done under the name of ‘Brethren Assembly Fellowship, Kenya’. An executive committee representative of all the churches cares for this requirement.
The Emmaus Bible Correspondence School had been established over many years with a well trained staff. They visit the Kenyan prisons, the only body with permission to visit and preach to the prisoners. Many prisoners are enrolled, and have made decisions for Christ. There are also many regional marking centres with hundreds enrolled in these excellent courses.
‘Assembly Aid Abroad Inc’ grew out of a need to support a growing number of evangelists and teachers as the people are poor, living by subsistence farming. Our conviction is also to provide Bibles in their own language, then Hymn Books, chapels and bicycles for workers.
We also partly support the Emmaus work, and without the assistance of these brothers and sisters, the ministry of Assembly Aid Abroad would not have commenced.
So a very cordial working relationship has been established and much blessing has followed with many people receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, and many churches established.
We depend on gifts from the Lord’s people to support this ministry. Anyone exercised to give to this ministry may do so by sending gifts to the addresses at the bottom of the page:
